I have explored sound and psychedelics for over 30 years in my personal life and have worked with a variety of meditation practices along the way. I am partially influenced by Tibetan sound healing (the root of most contemporary sound baths) but also by the psychedelic pioneers of the 1960’s, the ambient electronic musicians of the last 60+ years, and tribal/ritual sounds across various cultures, particularly those used in shamanic practices.
I believe that sound has power beyond its popular, current applications in our culture. Many ancient traditions teach that sound is a fundamental principle of creation. In non-ordinary states of consciousness this can be experienced in surprising ways.
I also believe that modern life in advanced technological cultures can be so noisy, consciously, that we often need a bridge to mediate the space between the relative safety and constriction of our thought-patterns and the somewhat shocking weightlessness of present moment awareness.
Prism has evolved (and continues to evolve) to help hold that space—to help establish a connection to stillness. I believe that stillness is where healing begins, not in any particular frequency, formula, or tuning system. It comes from within. So, for me, this work is about self reliance, taking responsibility for your own path and your own healing.
I do not identify with the new age movement or as a healer. The only person I’ve ever healed is myself and, to be honest, that is still very much a work in progress 🙂
My direct experiences with consciousness exploration and healing from my own personal trauma both indicate to me that psychological healing is a byproduct of the relentless and open minded pursuit of the Unknowable. I suppose I’m more of a seeker than anything else.

Think of bodywork as biofeedback: the pressure of my hands can show you the patterns, the eddies, and the stagnation you might not be consciously aware of.
I can feel where energy is moving and where it is stuck, like rocks interfering with a river’s flow. Energy cysts (or “archaic wounds”) are the body’s defense mechanism: the fascia contracts in response to stressors, and if the impact is too big, the energy stays stuck in our tissues, compressed as much as possible so we can function.
We retain the imprint of every physical and emotional impact we have ever experienced. Over time, we lose the ability to compensate for it all: we start becoming more rock, less river.
While it has taken me the last 16 years of intense inner work to actually feel comfortable inhabiting my own body, it has been an apprenticeship to help others to feel more comfortable in theirs. I am not a healer but a facilitator, an ally in your pursuit of knowing yourself more deeply.
Bodywork can bring up visuals, memories, emotions, and sensations, increasing your awareness of what is beneath the surface. Increased awareness facilitates movement and the release of stuck energy, strengthening the life force of the river beneath the rocks.
In my own practice, I combine bodywork and dialoguing for a mind-body-spirit approach to self-exploration. In collaboration with JP, the accompaniment of meditative sound provides an anchor to present moment awareness: stillness allows for the opportunity to get underneath your thoughts, into your body, and even further — into the energetic state of oneness with all that is.
Sound and bodywork meditation sessions offer an unusual opportunity for insight: a prism to bend your perception of yourself and this existence.
